Grizzly Gulch is an insane place. This was the first time Ive ever been but weve all heard of this place and seen it in Absinthe videos. This is where the most two famous gaps in snowboarding are. Im talking about Pyramid and Chads gap along with so endless terrain to build whatever any snowboarder would want. Grizzly is a special place that also brings the roots back to snowboarding. There is a cat track you have to hike and no snowmobiles allowed so every spot isn’t so blown out first thing in the morning. So grab some friends, a little food, water, and your shovel and you can go out here for free and have an amazing time. We went out with Mac Spedale, our buddy Sean Quinn, and myself (Joe Carter). We hiked to the top get some good pow turns ending up at little cliff perfect to build a pat-down jump. So we threw on snowshoes, made a runway, rolled up, burned one, and sent it. The snow was a little baked and landing a little flat but Mac stomped a few times anyway. Sean and I however still had a good time blowing up in the landing. As our day came to a close the run down was probably my favorite. Heading out of Grizzly there is a ditch on the way down with tons of natural jumps, hips and fun stuff to ride. Then we headed back down to Salt Lake with a mandatory stop at Molca Salsa for some Mexican food and plenty of beers later that night.
