Mountain High Pulls Off Kawasaki Triple Air Despite No Natural Snow -

Mountain High Loc Danny Garrity with a cab 720 .

Stephen Meyers with his best trick winning switch backside 720 The big names do come out for this thing, for example, Shaun White won it in 2003. Blaise Rosenthal, Matt Hammer, Rahm Klampert and many more household names have made their way through the three jumps. Mountain High claims that this is the biggest purse ($25,000) for a one day contest in the USA. This year the three jumps were moved from Conquest to Lower Chisholm. According to pro Cory Whetstone “The new location is much better, the slope is more consistent, better for jumps” Cory also said that the jumps were in really good shape. This was a pleasant surprise since Mountain High has only received 5” of total natural snowfall this season. The action was sick in this low key event. No one single trick won the event; it took 3 sick jumps to win. Some people were pulling 1080’s but not in the winning runs. The winning run by Cody Rosenthal consisted of a backside 7, frontside 5 to a cab 9, not too shabby. Cody got $6,000 cash and Kawasaki motorcycle for his efforts he said he was going to “Spend his money in Las Vegas at the tradeshow”

Keegan Valaika is rocking the big time Burton sponsorship and this 900 This event always has a rootsy, low key vibe and some top end riding. Thanks Mountain High, Kawasaki and all the other sponsors because when it comes down to it, after the money is counted and all the kids are home with all their raffle prizes. What really counts are the groms like James feeling the stoke of making a 720 in a contest, later

The three jumps that make up the Triple Air venue. Pretty legit, especially considering SoCal has gotten dismal snow so far this season
