Think it pretty much snowed everywhere last week. I bet at one point last week there was continupus snow from the US/Mexico border to the US /Canada border. So Cal got punded and it is still snowing

Had the good fortune of stopping Omatic to visit the crew there, while on the way to the airport and even scored a free hoodie.

Covering the US Grand Prix, the stories were up here last week

Woke up Sunday after the Grand Prix with no real plan and no work to do other than write two stories, edit 40 or photos, write captions and post them up. Oh and go to work on Monday in Newport Beach. So I headed up to Loveland for some runs. Loveland is a fun area that straddles the Eisenhower tunnel on the Continental Divide. Many people pass right by on their way to Vail, Summit County and so on. Loveland is worth a stop on a powder day though, or any day. It is a more rootsy, less corporate place without one high speed quad. Here is a small portion of the resort

It snowed 3-4 feet in the So Cal mountains. Pulling into Newport Beach looked almost like Wyoming, just place the elk with silicone implanted woman and the trees with sky scrapers. Anyway, lots of snow

Heading up the 15 through Lake Elsinore, CA. You do not see snow here very often

Classic board in line at Mt Baldy. Mt Baldy is a sick resort outside LA. They have limited snowmaking, 50 year old lifts, grumpy employees but insane terrain. Talk about Rootsy

Here is a run at Mt Baldy ski area and a view up the Devils Backbone

Looking down another run and a clear view of Mt Baldy itself. The peak here has insane backcountry, often until June.

Kurt Hoy did a story on it in like 1992

Yes, this is Southern California

Meanwhile the cities of Victorville, Mojave and Las Vegas got covered in snow to look more like Wyoming.

Don't even know what to say about this!

Looking at Thunder Mountain

Oh yea, the ocean and Catalina Island (in the upper left of the photo), you can’t see that from any mountain in Wyoming.

If there is any doubt this is near Hollywood, Ashton Kutcher filmed a movie here
