To be honest when showing up at Joe I was really looking forward to find some dirt on the kid. I just wanted to find some old Dave Mathews posters or a picture of him getting a new pair of rollerblades for Christmas. Unfortunately I was shut down in my conquest to destroy Joe’s reputation. It was for the most part as to be expected. The Christmas tree still up in mid February, a crazy evil rat dog, a fridge full of beer, and most important the hospitality of Joes mom, Maggie Carter. We rolled in ate some pasta and sculled a few cases of Yuengling Lager in preparation for our big day on the local ski hill. Saw Creek is the local hill. With one two-person chair and a vertical falling short of 500ft it is less then epic. But whether it’s a pow day at Jackson or a slushy day at Saw Creek we were all just stoked to shred. We sessioned a small BMX style jump with some local chuckers and had a blast.
In true Carter family fashion the action really got started when we got to the, Top of the world bar. I have been a few places in my life that are more deserving of the name, Top of the world but that didn’t stop us from getting shit-faced drunk. We really got on the piss at that place. Maggie bought first round and we just sent it from there. A solid pack of broads came in (I'm sure Joe will include a photo of him self claming) but no trimmings for the boys. I think we were just a bit loose for there liking. After a hilarious RV ride back to Joe’s house we sucked down some of the devils lawn shavings and passed out.
Next morning it was back on the road to Big Boulder, Pa. The previous night of debauchery made for a bit of a slow start but none the less it turned into a pretty fun session. Big Boulder is a small resort turned into an an almost all mountain terrain park. A fun hip session with some real cool local riders faded its way into another great night on the piss. Good times and good people up in the Keystone state. Thanks so much to Maggie and Joe Carter for the hospitality.
