Our fifth stop on the North American RV Tour is the officially mind blowing mountain resort Jackson Hole.
Jackson Hole is a mountain resort that has so much to offer for the intermediate to expert snowboarder. There is natural terrain that will allow you to push your personal limits as far as you would like to take them. If your group dynamic is not 100% experts this resort also offers terrain for the intermediate rider in the group.
We arrived in Jackson Hole late Thursday evening off a twenty-hour drive straight from Milwaukee Wisconsin. We were going to ride in the Midwest but our reality set in and we knew what we needed in our lives. We needed some epic snow, steep terrain and a resort that was not crowded by any standards. We knew we needed to be in Jackson ASAP and the entire group agreed to “Leave Wisconsin tonight and drive straight to Jackson.”
After our twenty-hour trek we arrived in Jackson late Thursday Night and slept at the Ansel Adams lookout at the Snake River Outlook. When we woke up we were greeted by the mystical Grand Teton Mountain Range. It was an experience that I will never forget as I woke up before sunrise and watched the sun light these mountains with an amazing golden light. This was the perfect way to start the trip.
At around 730 we headed to the resort and worked on lining up passes for our stay in Jackson. We ran into some heavy delays and ended up buying passes. We didn’t end up getting on the hill until 2 pm but when we did we immediately linked up with Brian Iguchi, Mark Carter, Adam Dowell, John Makens and John Layshock. This is the perfect way to begin your Jackson Hole Resort experience. Linking up with guides that know the terrain and love to snowboard just as much as you. Brian was on his way out for the day and we got to share one tram run with him. So the Carter, Dowell, Makens and I decided to hit the gondola a few runs to close out the resort. These guys move fast, especially on days like today when they are just out soul shredding so as the photographer I had to be quick with the camera in and out of the bag. Our last run I even decided to ride with my camera in my hand the entire run. We took the approach of capturing the moment of the Jackson Hole crew as they ride daily. Check out the photo set to see what went on in the first few hours of our first day.

- Woke up to a pretty insane view of the Tetons.

- Peeking out the window of the RV as we drive to Jackson to start the day.

- The sun was sitting just right as 7 AM rolled around.

- As we arrived at the resort we immediately linked up with Brian Iguchi, Adam Dowell, Mark Carter and John Makens

- The riders are stoked about the new tram. The tram travels 2 miles up hill and carries 100 riders to endless possibilities.

- One possibility is this jump right here.

- Mark Carter takes this opportunity and sends it.

- Brian sends it next. It is such an honor to ride Jackson with Brian as he has inspired my riding since I saw the video Gettin' Some.

- I had to follow his lead, indy nose poke, after shooting the top perspective.

- The crew after the cliff jump, ready to hit the next feature.

- Brian Iguchi Signature Method.

- You have to take a look at this method again.

- The crew taking a short break down the hill.

- John Layshock was sharing stories from shooting Jackson Hole Snowboarders over the last ten years.

- Mark Carter grew up in a town called Ten Sleep but now lives in Jackson. Carter ruled it last year in the Quiksilver Natural Selection.

- Carter popping off a fun cat track.

- The sun was poking through the trees in a magical way. Had to capture it.

- The upper section of Casper Bowl was windy today but should be sick over the next few days.

- Adam Dowell ends it off with a little tranny finder.

- The tram returns for the night.

- The crew decides that tomorrow is another day and the story will continue.

- Back to the RV for the evening, and getting ready for the next clear day. The weather looks like it might bless us with some snow so we are looking forward to it
