Behind the Scenes Snowboarder Magazine Superpark 13 Mammoth
Behind the Scenes | Superpark 13 Mammoth Words Joe Carter Photos Joe Carter, Johnny Centi
At this point all of you reading this better have caught a glimpse at the mayhem that
was unfolding at Superpark 13. Hosted by non other than Snowboarder
Magazine, with a little help from their freinds at Gatorade to quench that thirst, or
cottonmouth. Then you add the brilliant
minds of Mammoth, Bear Mountain, and Loon Mountain, coming all the way
from New Hampshire to ponder up some ideas to make all the collosal
features. The guys spent some time with their protractors, measuring
tapes, and lots of cat time to construct some
original shit around chair 4 for the smorgasbord of talent that was
coming to the
Eastern Seirras with something to prove. The weather was perfect, as it
usually is during the month of May in Mammoth with clear blue skies and
a little breeze. Up and coming riders, seasoned
veterans, and everyone in between came to slay some dragons and while
most
lived through the week most live through it to tell the tale. While
some were not so lucky. Even
with all the insane levels of riding from all the riders on all
features this event has got something more to it. Another aspect of
Superpark brings to the table
is the reunion of friends from all over the globe to come together at
the end of many people's season.
Having the chance to snowboard on some of the biggest jumps you can
feast your eyes on. Eat some hot dogs, burgers, and maybe even grab a
few beers. The only thing missing I thought was Hardingham.
Thanks again to Pat Bridges, and everyone else that helped put on such
an
amazing event. Cheers.
