BRIGHTON BUNCH 2009 RECAP
Season 1: Brighton Bunch Episode 1  Brighton Bunch Episode 2  Brighton Bunch Episode 2.5  Brighton Bunch Episode 3

The Brighton Bunch has some deep depth in its meaning now, at least for me it does.  Now that I have had the experience of sleeping at the base of the resort, waking up 10 feet from the Milly lift and watching the pow stack up again.  I finally feel like I am a part of the Brighton Bunch.
What is the Brighton Bunch?  It’s more than a submission or an editorial highlight of a resort.  It’s a crew of riders that get together on pow days and ride some of the best terrain available in Utah.  Brighton has such a deep history in snowboarding and it’s amazing to just experience it myself and be a part of it.
This Brighton Bunch comes to you from the lenses of Andrew Miller and Mark Dangler.  The two driving forces behind the concept of continually writing about and shooting Brighton.  This was our second time around to Brighton on the All Roads Lead To Tour and the second time that Brighton received epic snow since our first stop.  One thing I can vouch for in snowboarding is that when you experience powder days, you tend to not forget them for a while.  So when your tour bus is front and center on the two most epic powder days in a few weeks time some riders believe that you bring the storms.  This concept is a mentality we deliver through the Pow Down religion but the secrets out, we just chase the snow.
This time around we slept in the parking lot as the snow piled up, woke up as the crew started rolling up.  This time around it was Elliott Levitt, Kyle Loppiccollo, Ben Farrell, Noah Hausknecht, Josh Poehlein, Jp Tomich, Kurt Wastell, Megan Centi, Mark Dangler, Joe Carter, with appearances from Jameson; whom I must add covered the guitar of Pink Floyds Money the other night.  We all had one thing in mind, and that was to get some, and enjoy the shit out of it.
The powder was deep, around 10-20 inches worth of great mid weight, stable snow on epic terrain.  What more can you ask for?  We started off the day riding fresh lines in bounds sending the cliffs we know, finding new ones, and just all around feeling out the resort.  We were rolling fairly deep with heads but none of us cared about anything but enjoying this moment and appreciating the day.  It wasn’t about getting the first line, the fresh shot, the money angle, or any of that shit.  It was about pure snowboarding and expressing our love for it.  No greed, everyone giving each other the first go, for the sole purpose of letting your home boys get the goods, and know that there will be plenty for you down the same chute.
The Brighton Bunch represents what snowboarding should be about; great friends, epic snow, epic terrain and knowing there is plenty of it to go around.  Enjoy the photos from Andrew and get out here yourself.  Its good out here.
