The 11th annual Mountain High Triple Air went down on Saturday. Danny Toumarkine won the men's class and Stacie Anderson won the women's at the 11th annual Mountain High Triple Air. Despite the fact that many snowboarders were at other events this weekend; New York for the Red Bull Skyscrapers event, the Burton Canadian Open or the Mount Baker Banked Slalom, does not mean the Triple Air was hurting for talent. This event has always been kind of a super local event. A party with some jumps; people drinking beer, parents rooting for their kids and some really good riders competing for fun and maybe $10,000 that you get for first place. Even though this is a fun, rootsy event, guys like Shaun White, Joe Eddy, Matt Hammer and others have won it in the past. Other than the fun vibe and good talent the coolest thing is coming to the event each year to see all the kids that are not yet household names put it all on the line and throw down; there's always fresh talent at the Triple Air. The course was changed up from its traditional three straight jump design. This year with a hip thrown in as the first of three jumps after the hip the course made a left hand turn that led to the final 2 jumps which were medium sized straight jumps. The 2nd jump was shorter and had a steeper lip than the 3rd and the 3rd jump had a mellow take off with more landing to clear. Nothing too huge though, just fun jumps. The deep snow that had fallen in the past day or two meant lot's of fresh pow for everyone but slower snow for clearing the jumps. The weather was so crazy on Friday and forecasted to be so bad on Saturday that the contest seemed unlikely to go down. Somehow on Saturday the weather cleared up and the contest was thrown between storms. Most people had no problems clearing the gaps despite the fresh snow except for a few of the girls. The riders I spoke seemed to enjoy the set up that allowed for straight airs, 9's 10's and everything in between. Danny Toumarkine won with sick tricks on all three jumps; the 3 jump combo taking the win because it seemed other riders had harder tricks on the 2 straight jumps. Bode Merrill followed hot on his heels in second and Brandon Cocard took 3rd. Thanks to Mountain High, Cholula, Monster, Jarritos and more sponsors for making it all happen.

Mountain High Local, turned Mammoth, turned Mountain High, turned Utah, turned Mountain High local Kyle Lopiccolo lofts a stylee method over the hip

Mountain High had just received copious amounts of snow and snow had been forecasted to fall all day for the Triple Air. Saturday morning it was somehow clear with tons of freshies – people were stoked to ride powder and stoked that event could run between snowstorms

What happens when the airlines lose your luggage? Josh Sherman's answer is to not ride and he was not too happy Cory Whetstone

Cory Whetsone over the hip that replaced the usual straight jump for the 1st jump

Event winner Danny Toumarkine doing what was likely the trick that put him on top of the podium; a back rodeo 7 over the hip, the rest of his winning run consisted of a cork 7 and front 9 melon. Other guys had harder combos on the last two jumps so that is why it seems like Danny’s trick here over the hip helped put him on top of the podium. This gut from New Hampshire is pretty sick with lots of firsts in various contests and even making the finals in slopestyle at a Vans Cup in the past

Cody Rosenthal journeyed from Mammoth. Cody did a cab 9 to front 9 over the last two jumps in the finals with mad style to boot

Danny Thomas also did at least one nine in the finals

Geoff Isringhausen

Laurie Currier rounded out the women's podium with 3rd place

Melissa Evans - front 3

Mitch Allen - front 7

Women's event winner Stacie Anderson

Tyler Flanagan crushing this back 9. Tyler even did one of the few, or only, 1080's in the event, I think. Kind of surprised he did not place higher

The voice of the X games, skateboarding and snowboarding – Dave Duncan with Zac Bass in the background

Course maintenance between heats, thanks to the crew at Mt. High

Looking down the landing of the second jump and towards the third. The weather got worse as the event progressed, visibility got worse due to increasing fog and snow; you can say the conditions were challenging at times but no one was complaining

Cholula Triple Air Show 2nd place finisher Bode Merrill

Brandon Reise

Elise Pirelli – second place in women’s

Greg Bokenkamp

Ian Thorley did this Rodeo 9 off the second jump and straight into a switch back 9. Ian got 10th and it was really surprising, he did not crack the top three but whatevs I could not see the whole course so who knows?

Zack Hale

Spencer Link tweaking out this 720

X Games champion Jamie Anderson and her two sisters. Jamie came down to support her sister Stacie (in yellow) and it must have worked since Stacie won and walked away with $4,000. Jamie has been hurt but should be back on snow in a few weeks

Men's event winner Danny Toumarkine

Brandon Cocard was stoked to get 3rd place. Brandon rides for Capita and made the journey from Tahoe and it seems the journey was worth it
