Masterpiece is more than a work of art; the masterpiece itself is the heart and soul that goes into the project. Only the artist can understand the masterpiece of the art.  Art displays meaning to life shown through a visual solid form.  What is not seen or heard about is what we would like to know.   Chrissy Loconti is a 25 year old artist from Cleveland Ohio.  Her vision of life shown through her art is a gift from her world to yours.   For one moment in time you can see what she sees and understand what she thinks.  Chrissy art changes lives in so many ways. Pursuing the freedom to express your self through art can be a very powerful tool.

Where do you find your inspiration to create such unique pieces?

"I get most of my inspiration from Magazines and past times."

Are there any locations that you find you get in a zone to work?

"I have a studio in my garage that is private enough for me to just flow."

Do you prefer to work alone when working on your projects or do like when people are around while you work?

"I love to work alone.  At times people around you can be a distraction. I like to put my music on and just go."

What type of projects do you most enjoy doing?

"I enjoy doing Paintings, throwing clay and making jewelry."

How much time do you spend on your pieces?  Does it take weeks or months on some?

"It depends on what I am working on but I do prefer a couple of weeks to finish a project. I am not an artist who spends months on their work."

You are attending Kent State University, have you gone to any other schools for art?

"I also went to Columbus College of Art Design in Columbus Ohio."

Have you noticed an improvement in your work from working with professors in college?

"Some of the teachers are good.  Others can paralyze you because if you depend on their acceptance and you don't get it your work can be affected. Then you begin to lose yourself."

Would you recommend kids attend schools with good art programs if pursuing art careers?

"Yes.  I believe that good art programs can help but it is not needed."

Do you have any plans on projects you may work on after graduating?

"Yeah, getting my own work finished.  I have so many pieces that I am working on now. I would also love to start my own jewelry line."

Some of your pieces would make awesome graphics for snowboards. Have you ever thought of working with any snowboard companies.

"I think that it would be great to see my work on snowboards."

Is it hard to become a recognized artist?  It almost seems like a snowboarder; both are based on the individualism and only you can make it work for your self.

"I think that it's definitely hard to get recognized, it's a very competitive field.  You have to have what the people want.  Hopefully it's your own personal style that the people love. "

Do you find any difficulty trying to get your projects to work out the way that you see them?

"Of course I do, most of the time it's the reason I don't finish all of my work."

When about to begin a project is there a plan of exactly what you are going to do before you make it or just an idea?

"It starts as an idea.  I look at a lot of magazines for thoughts and a certain pose will catch my eye. Also sometimes I do renderings (drawings) before hand."

Is it easier to just build on more and more as you go?

"Yes, your mind is always wandering and you find new inspirations throughout the day.  Therefore you can add more."

How would you describe a finished piece?

"Well I guess I don't really know personally I feel it is when the composition is full and your eye travels evenly throughout the piece."

Do you find inspiration for your art in the people and things around you?   Who inspires your masterpiece mind?

"People are my inspiration.  The shitty things that they do and the great things they do. Colors and graphic designs, Love.  It all inspires me."
