Holiday Valley in Western New York has definitely stepped up their game and is really focusing on what all you kids like to ride ; THE PARK. With over a dozen new handrails and jibs Holiday Valley will have everything you need to satisfy your shred deprivation.
Holiday Valley threw a rail jam last Saturday that was the make up jam for their scheduled Thanksjibbing Rail Jam. The park director Chris Perks and Events Coordinator Pat Morgan made a good decision in holding off on the jam until their was enough snow. Last Saturday the resort had plenty of snow, a whole new park image 42 78 and some sick riders to come test out the new features. Kids from Buffalo, PA, Jamestown and Ohio cruised out to show their skills.
The set up in the Holiday Valley was super sick, their was a 20-30 foot c flat rail, a lexan cover barrel placed on top of a ten foot quarter pipe, a quadrilateral box, and a right triangle box that had a down hill landing. The jibs were all super clean, super smooth and Snowboard Revolution is super stoked on them. To be honest, the revolution crew rode Park City Utah today and the jibs Holiday has set up right now are just as sick. That should help you realize that sometimes you don’t need to leave your home spot to get the goods.
The event was great. Pat announced and again kept the vibe alive. The jibbers were killing it, some of the highlights were: Paul Queder doing a side step across the quad box, Frank The Tank doing a backside 180 to switch Jackson Slide, the little groms spinning to win on the quad box and one of the kids attempting to gap the entire box. Supa, Bri and Kali did these super sick laid back tail presses in a train.
All in all it was a very good time at a very good spot in the 42 78 park at Holiday Valley. Keep up the good work guys and like I was telling Chris Perks earlier, what’s up with an entire run of jibs? : With lift access.
