Kingvale 420 Kingstock 2009 Report

Event info from John Centi 4/25/2009

By now it’s safe to say, the smoke has probably vanished from Kingvale after all the burning that went down on Monday. Since Grenade decided to move Grenade Games all the way up to Canada Kingvale decided to throw a little shindig of their own. Giving all the people that might not have the funds or maybe have some priors the chance to really let loose and bring on the 420 festivities.  I made the drive out the night before from Salt Lake City, with my buddies Kyle Lopiccolo and Joseph Arguello that were on a party mission. To make the drive a little more interesting, once they got out of Utah they took advantage of the real beer and started their trip out with a few 40’s each, and didn’t stop after that. Then we finally made it to Truckee to stay with Danny Davis, C Bass, Snook, and Mason Aguirre. Next morning as we rolled into the parking lot the next morning the turnout of people ready to party was much more than I expected. With the warm sunny weather, a prime set-up, miniramp, and 20 dollar lift tickets the decision must have been easy. Kingvale is the perfect spot to hold an event/party as the Tahoe season starts to come to a close. The skunk like aromas were strong and the beers were flowing good at the top of the rope-tow. Along with plenty more features further up the hill and sleds shuttling riders back to the top so they didn’t even have to hike. As the sun started to set everyone that stuck around for a while made their way down to the quarterpipe. Kyle Lopiccolo, Curtis Woodman, John Foy, Yancy Caldwell, Forrest Bailey and Nate Farrell were blasting out some plenty of stylish airs. Putting a close to the day and long long party night to come. Thanks to everyone at Kingvale for showing people a great time and putting on a 420 event that people can actually get to that isn’t all the way in Canada. Kingvale will be open a little longer for the season so if you want to ride some fun stuff and support snowboarders make your way up.
