Youused to be one of the main sponsored guys at Quicksilver right?
I was on the Quiksilver outer wear team for a few years. I started dislocating my shoulder. I had surgery twice and each rehab is like 8 months. That was like a year and half right there. So I wasn't getting enough done at the time and they let me go. I was a little bummed but I moved on.
Now I'm riding for Under Armour outerwear. I couldn't be more happy about it. Matt Barbour formally of RedBull is running the operation over there and he's going to build a core team to get the clothes in the mix. Fucking sweet.
How was the change to moving from Mammoth to Jackson Hole Wyoming, Why did you decide on Jackson?
I'm in training. The East Coast (Vermont) first, learning to turn). Then Mammoth, (park and pipe) then Jackson Hole (freeriding and big jumps) and then Alaska fucker.
What do you think about Mammoth?
Mammoth was great for my riding and was packed with friends. I was fortunate to meet Jeff Anderson, Bobby George, Luke Caler and Matt Downey when I first arrived. I think it was that year that Jeffy did the first 450 onto a rail! Those where the days. You just take laps in the park and watch all the tricks being thrown and it pushes you.
You still have good memories of the old Grenade days?
I do. I'm sure I could tell a lot of story here. I'll just tell a quick one.
When Grenade started there were no gloves, just stickers and sweetshirts. We were partying in the Las Vegas Trade Show. When Danny or I began to piss in one of the dealer booths, the one of us not pissing threw a roll of duct tape and it flew over a couple of booths landing who knows where. Long story short we were arrested. Handcuffed in the Roxy booth and dragged through the show, past everybody laughing to a holding station. My Salomon team manager Kale Gray had to bail us out. Those where the peak days for me. Sorry Danny.

What is your typical day at Jackson in the winter?
Up real early, meet Travis Rice or Brian Iguchi. Sled 10-15 miles into the shit and build a kicker for 3 hours. Huck for a few hours, giving each other rides to the top of the jump. Once we can't even ride anymore we sled home. On average someone crashes their sled into a tree or we see wolves and moose and weird animals.
And summer?
I not going to lie and say I kayak, hike, fish or rock climb. I don't do much. I hang out with my wife Melanie, our daughter Harper, play guitar in a dark room, skateboard and wait for snow.
Who is your sled crew at Jackson Hole?
Travis Rice, Jeff Kramer, Brian Iguchi, Colin Langlois, Willie Mcmillion, Makens,Adam Dowell,Jessie Brown, Elliot, Gabe Taylor and Chad Otterstrom are members of the gang too.
Will you be part of the Travis Rice new movie project?
I filmed with them for a bit of the winter. A lot of bad weather and hard jump building, like being in the Army.
Tell us about it.
Travis and I see things the same way out there and it works out great. He pushes me to ride more technical. Travis' movie will change snowboarding. He did about a dozen tricks that haven't been named this year. Buy this movie. I'm also in The Grenade movie, The Boned Age and the Bluebird movie.

You just came back from Mt Hood? How was that?
I was just up there and it's one of the best years they have had. Worth the drive!
How is your body these days you follow any type of diet or have a work out routine?
I try to stay strong and not waste away. I think the stronger you are the better your riding will be. However we all know what people look like on a snowboard when they have to much bulk muscle. I try to keep lean.
Do you stretch?
After I ride. Yoga is a great thing if you can get motivated YOGATODAY.com it's free.
How is to have a family and be a pro snowboarder?
Very hard, you need to have a shit load of energy. I'll snowmobile from 5 am till 8pm. Sled 30 miles, drive forty five minutes and build three jumps. When I get home my wife is like "your turn" and hands over the dog and baby. next morning do it again. Plus traveling is tough too.

How much time you spend on the road per year?
I only went on a half a dozen trips this winter. It was so good in Jackson. Travis and I just shredded in Alpine, my home town.
What do you think about drugs in general?
America is on all of them. Mom, Dad and Grandma. Kids and adults alike. Coffe cigarettes, pain pills, Nyquil, weed, booze, Zanex, That shit for restless leg syndrome. Come on it's getting out of hand. I blame the Doctors mostly. Every solution is in a pill bottle.
How is Mongo Productions doing?
Where on hiatus right now. Making movies was real hard. Every brand only wants to give money to the same 2 film companies over and over again. We put a lot of blood sweet and tears into those flicks.
Anything new coming?
Not for now. I just want to ride hard.
