The pro scene may have primarily moved on to Chile, New Zealand or elsewere but Mt Hood is still kicking it, like they day every year, all year except some time in the fall. The schedule read "until Labor Day 8am-2pm" Here is what it looked like on 8/18/07. You ride that little square in the left-center part of the photo and some little trails hidden in the rocks. You can almost make all the way to Timberline lodge still but not quite
You ride the Magic Mile chair to get to this point; the bottom of Palmer, which gives about 1500' vertical of riding
