Nick is probably one of the most positive people you could meet. I don’t think I have ever seen Nick in a bad mood. Whether your snowboarding, hangin out, or partying with him, you can guarantee Nick is having a good time. I was lucky enough to ride powder with Nick and his crew all winter. We hiked all over Utah backcountry searching for powder weeks after the storm. Some of the best powder days of my life. You here a lot about the importance of style these days. Well Nick has some of the smoothest style around, he can take the easiest trick and make it look so sick. Oh, and he’s got a damn good Australian accent, you don’t believe me check out this video, I don’t know what else to tell you, but you can be sure to see some more of Nick in the future.

Nick, how’s it going mang?
Really good, i woke up today covered in magic markers, have random cuts and bruises all over my body, and my face really hurts. But besides that, life is great.
How’s the summer treating you so far? Where have you been and what are you doing?
Best summer ever. I was hanging in VT with Cbass and the Mitranis for a hot sec, and now I have been posted up in Whistler at the Camp of Champs. I am a CIT up here, learning the ropes of the camp. This place is the shit, I highly recommend it to anyone who loves to snowboard and have a good time. This past week I got the chance to ride with some kids from the Chill program, which was awesome.
Where are you originally from and how did you get into snowboarding?
I am originally from Connecticut, but my family would go up to VT nearly every weekend since I was a young lad. Learning how to snowboard at Bromley Mountain was a magical time. At the time I was there, there was such a solid crew of riders to look up to and cruise around with; Nate Farrel, Ty Emond, the Mitranis, Timmy B, Losi, Greg Bokencamp, and Soroken sightings were rad. As Nate and Ty did, i ended up at sms.
How was it going to Stratton Mtn. School? Did you enjoy your time there?
Yea it was cool. I've gained my best friends from going to that school. Its like that tv show the Wonder Years. What’s it like living in Salt Lake in the winter compared to Vermont? much more snow, less rain and ice, but still the same great feeling.
What do you do when you’re not snowboarding?
enjoy the journey
- Nick is a super versatile rider. Here proving he can hold his own in the pipe.
Your hair is amazing. So nice. Do aspire to ride for Paul Mitchell?
I sent in a proposal, but those assholes never called back.
Say the first thing that comes to mind.
Salt Lake: the shit
Snowboarding: life
Jam Rock: good times
Utility Board Shop: Socks and fitteds
Totts: not into it
Grizzly Gulch: Andrew Miller's shirtless method
Powder: freedom
Home: quiet, R&R
- Brain Freeze.
How do you feel about the current state of snowboarding?
I feel it has strayed far off track. Snowboarding, like life, did not come with any directions or instruction manual. This is not basketball or math, there is no specific formula to riding down the mountain. Think of the first guys to ride a snow snurfer down a hill. They were not bothered by an amplitude judge, or worrying if they had front board pretzels on lock. They were in it for simply one reason, to have a good time. It is alright to think outside the box. Do what feels right to you, and not for any other kook out there.
Are you living the life?
I most certainly am
What has snowboarding done for you?
Made me realize that it is pointless to stress the little things
If you weren’t snowboarding, what would you be doing?
sleeping
- No grab necessary. This kid has style for days..
Where did you ride mostly this past season?
Mostly Utah, but I got to hang in mammoth this spring with the crew, which was all time
What’s your favorite place to snowboard?
Bromley, VT, but I haven't gotten a chance to ride the hidden treasure in a while.
Who do you like to ride with?
So many people... the Frends crew, Stompson, Cbass, Geoff, Jared, BV (Portland for life), LV, Cody Rosenthal, the Spedales, Ted, everyone in Utah, Nick diamond Dirks, Fern, Mike Caruso, the Crewsayderz and everyone in mammoth, all De Boys from Camp of Champs! But pretty much I like to take laps with anyone cruising the slopes
Have you seen your part in “Bundy Vision” yet? It’s pretty sweet.
No, but i heard it already won the Nobel peace prize How are the babes treating you? Really good actually, hah!
How many chicks do you think your gunna get with this interview?
If I get half as many girls as Elliott (Levitt) probably got with his interview, I will be satisfied.
- Almost head level tweakage on the monster hip in Mammoth for the 2008 Snowboarder Mag Superpark
What kind of music do you listen to when you snowboard?
I like everything, from Dylan to Aretha Franklin to Lil Wayne
How many times have you been naked in public? Elaborate.
I "stripped" to Wild Thing last night at the COC ender party. Not totally naked but pretty close.
What are your plans for next season?
Live it up in SLC again and try to get some good carves in
Who would you like to thank?
Johnny and Andrew for ripping up the internet with this site, Etienne, Kinger, and Fabia at COC for the best summer ever, the Frends crew for keeping it real, my family, my friends all around the world, and anyone who has ever strapped into a snowboard.
Any last words? Life's a beach! Live it up.
- Nick super high speed wheelie at Brighton
