Kicking Horse Mountain Resort Golden B.C.
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is located in the interior mountains of British Columbia. The town of Golden B.C. is home to this unique 4,133 vertical foot mountain resort. Kicking Horse has 4 lifts and 1 gondola that gives you access to 70 inbounds chutes. Kicking Horse is open for business from December 16 and closes April 17.
The mountains are not the largest in elevation, but the vertical change in elevation is so large that riding top to bottom runs will have your feet on fire by the end of a run. Kicking Horse is a resort that lives up to its name and the cowboys of the untamed northwest saddle up and ride it on a daily basis.
The terrain on the resort is intense. The untouched chutes and extreme inbounds terrain can be accessed by the gondola. After you reach the top of the mountain a few short traverses and hikes will get you to some of the best lift access terrain in the Canadian Rockies. The mountain is made up of two mountain ridges that have chutes, cliffs, tree jibs, tree lines, cat tracks and an endless amount of natural freestyle terrain for you to ride.
Kicking Horse is one of those resorts that you don’t want to tell anyone about. It is a place where the powder is as light as the clouds that bring it in. It is also on of those places that if you told everyone about you would still be able to find your own fresh lines to ride.
