Day One: Pow Wow at Pow Mow
Words Andrew Miller

Powder Mountain…. Where to start… Well Utah has been getting totally pounded on resulting in some of the best conditions all season.  After having five or six straight epic pow days in a row the storming let up for a bit.  I figured it would be the best time to rally up some troops after the next storm and head up one hour north of Salt Lake to the infamous Powder Mountain in quest of all the stories I had heard to be true.
The Rossi entourage were the first to come to mind since these dudes all have the right powder over urban mindset that so often confuses so many Salt Lake shredders.  Pouch sealed the deal with tickets and a condo providing Dark Mangler and myself two days two capture as much pow and action as we could handle as well as for the crew to ride.
Day one started grey and early as we all meet up in the parking lot excited as Pow Mow had been closed the day before not to mention over two plus feet had fallen in the past two days.  It was going to be light, deep and uncrowned and I thought to myself there is no better crew to be with on a day like this.  The troop consisted of Rossi Tm Pouch, Neil Provo and his brother Ian.  Nick Russell, Zach Seibert and last but no Lil-est Alex Sherman.  That is a pretty good start…. Might as well let the photos take over and finish the story.

- Nick and Seibert with POW off

- Nothing better than riding in the trees with your homies.

- Seibert dick deep in the fluff.

- Cat boarding was put on hold for today so we decided to hike up there anyways.

- Russell Crowe reaping the benefits of a five minute hip right off the cat track.

- Sherminator pulling through right as the sun was peaking through clouds.

- This was the view directly to the right of the photo above.  Amazing view of the great Salt Lake, Ogden and an alien teliport on the right.

- 6:00pm Rossi crew still stoked!

- Unwiding after a long day.  Thanks again to Pouch for TM'ing the fuck out of the Lasagna and salad.

- This was the view from our pad.
We wanted to go back out but had no energy left to shred.

Day Two: Bright and Bluebird
Words Mark Dangler

It’s pretty damn easy to get out the door and ride when you are steps away from the mountain and this is good because had it been much harder work we might have been delayed seeing as how tired everyone was from our 9am-6pm board-a-thon the day prior. We woke up on day two and walked out to a bluebird day. If yesterday was as good as it was, we couldn’t even start to fathom what today might hold.
Back off of Paradise Lift and Powder Country there were a few zones we thought would still be good in the morning. Well, it turns out there were many good zones still left even on day two. It seems for some reason people at Powder Mountain don’t know you can go off the few groomed runs. Ehh, well, I mean…that’s right, you can’t! So for all of you people at powder mountain thinking about venturing off of that courderoy, stay on the groomed runs because boarding powder is just no fun, especially getting fresh turns two days after a storm!
Really though, this seems to be the way things work at Pow Mow, there is plenty of untracked. So after getting some great snow off of the lifts we headed up to Lightning Ridge for a few runs of cat boarding. While the sun had baked out some of the snow by the later portion of the afternoon it was mostly the same story in these spots of the mountain; Lots of powder left. At least we all know now, Powder Mountain isn’t practicing false advertising with their namesake.
