How has the industry changed today compared to 10 years ago?
Good and Bad. 10 years ago it isn’t too much different than today but 20 years ago was way different-a lot more low key and a huge percentage of people doing it just because they loved it. No alterioir motives, snowboard coaches, agents, or mainstream sponsors. Its funny seeing certain mainstream companies using snowboarding to sell their garbage and not putting anything back into the sport. The bigger the kill the more vultures there will be present. When anything grows though there are certain advantages too-more support being brought to more people that care about snowboarding.
It’s strange to me when I see a CEO of a snowboard company that has never linked 2 turns on a snowboard.

Overrated?
Places: Vegas
People: Sports Agents
Underrated?
Places: If I told you I would have to kill you.
People: E-man Anderson, Risto Ruokola, and Joe Sexton.
What do you see the biggest difference is between Canadian rider's and American rider's?
It sucks to see any kid (American or Canadian) concerned with what they are going to get from a sponsor. If you are good you will be found. Until then-shut up and have some fun. The same kids bitching about not having a sponsor are the same kids that will be bitching about their sponsor when they get one. Being sponsored will not make snowboarding any more fun.
What are the five best day's of your career? Who and where?
1) Japan with Cardiel and Ranquet-powder snow, wrecked hotel rooms, and a lot of booze and LSD. Thankful that I am still alive.
2) Clown suit motorcycle through the grocery store-I wish I still had the mug shots.
3) Quitting World Industries
4) Snowboarding any day with Kevin Young or Marc Morisset
5) Best day is yet to come when we finish the “Child Support” movie. I have wanted to do a team video with my own snowboard company for almost 15years now.

Who is metal?
By metal you mean rad right? Mike Ranquet, Terry Kidwell, Jamie Lynn, Chris Roach, Ilari Suhonen. Fredu Sirvio, RIsto Ruokola, Simon Chamberlain , broke snowboarders, broke photographers, broke filmers. Anyone that makes what they are doing more important than what they are getting out of it. Hang in there dogs-it’ll always pay off.

Who is not metal?
Team Managers, Sports Agents, CEOs at energy drink companies, Jamie Salter, Industry terms such as “mainstream”, “core market research”, “demographic”, shaving cream sponsors, Ski companies making snowboards-I remember when you guys were calling snowboarding a fad and petitioning to get us kicked off the ski hill-too bad we saved your industry…fags.
Why are Stepchild Snowboards so indestructible? Are made of metal or what?
We put a lot into the materials and construction of our boards and that isn’t me just selling a line. I remember how bad it sucks to work all summer as a kid and have a board break early season. I don’t want a kid to experience that on a Stepchild board. We have less than a 1% warranty rate.

Why did you decide to create Stepchild?
Because I was washed and sick of retards running snowboard companies.
Has it been everything you thought it would be?
As far as personal material gains not much but as far as personal experience, meeting and working with new friends and being able to continue to be a dirt bag I am stoked. I would be stoked to just someday make a living at it.

First the comes to mind:
John Cardiel- It’s a beautiful thing seeing someone so out of control and so in control at the same time. Most entertaining to watch regardless. I saw him get hit by a car in Japan.
Burton Snowboards- I have always respected Jake, Craig Kelly and Terje. Burton has done a lot for snowboarding since the beginning and in my opinion they continue to put back into snowboarding. I filmed for a day with Jake at Whistler Heli and he was actually pretty cool. I am not a huge Burton fan but I can say that I like Burton a lot more than any gay ass ski company making snowboards.
Mammoth-Pro Pile Up
MFM- Donuts before shredding but still rips. His riding backs any hype that he gets. Mark deserves everything.
Tight Pants-Joe Sexton
Plain crashes-don’t ask-I hate flying
Mc Donalds- childhood brainwash machine-Fat Americans
Whiskey- Headache and a smelly clownsuit
SIA in Vegas- suicide bomb
Motorhead- Those songs are rad but they must get boring to play by the 10,000th time.
Who's rocking in your Ipod these days?
Nothing-I left it in the rain and its fucked- Its like an 80G with only 50 songs on it. I aint much of a computer guy and I listen to everything and anything-I aint going to try and sound artsy, metal, rap or rad by giving you a list of my “image building” music.

How's the filming going for "Child Support" the stepchild and Nomis video?
Couldn’t be going better. Broken cameras, snowmobiles, and cars. I love working with the team. Honestly things couldn’t be better. Those kids are pushing snowboarding just for the cause of pushing snowboarding. Its cool to see some first time shit done right in front of your eyes. I am fortunate over the years to have watched generations of snowboarders push their abilities and the sport to a new level and standard beyond what I ever thought was possible-to see where snowboarding is today is an amazing thing-as far as riding goes.
What do you do in the summer besides surfing in Nicaragua, skating with D.C.P. and work?
I don’t really skate with DCP much at all. I have skated his ramp a few times though. Do a bit of yoga and I also hit golf balls onto the highway every once in a while. There is a new skate park in my town Squeamish and I am there almost every evening. Besides that, mostly editing and working on the board line.
What's your situation with the ladies?
I’ve got a girlfriend that is a massage therapist-exclusive rub and tug whenever I want it. Been with her for two years now-most low maintenance and supportive girlfriend I have ever had. If your chick ever bitches about you going snowboarding then quit wasting your time and get rid of her. Relationships work best when you don’t have to force them to work. Also don’t EVER give a girl a second chance if she cheats on you cause you will always get burned in the end-I promise.
Through all your career of traveling and riding can you explain 1 or 2 "Death or Glory" situations you found your self in?
Waking up in Jail and wondering what the hell I did to get in there-this used to happen to me often and it was scary as shit. I think the most death or glory situation I found myself in was admitting to myself that I was an alcoholic and getting help for it. If I didn’t do that I guarantee that I would be dead right now.
What do you think about the whole Rap, hip hop baggy pant's trend in snowboarding these days?
As long as someone can put riding first I don’t care what they wear.
Fell free in this paragraph to put all your thoughts, anger, apologies or anything that you just want to get of your chest.
Fuck dude if I did that we would be publishing a book together…
