    MT. Hood, OR – A major winter storm which arrived Friday has dropped a foot of new snow on Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort, bringing the base area snow depth to 4 feet. Resort officials report accumulations of five feet and more higher up on the mountain.

  • Snowshoe Mountain Opening Day Delayed

    Snowshoe, WV — Mother Nature has once again proved how fickle she can be, forcing Snowshoe Mountain to delay it’s Opening Day for the winter ski and snowboard season after an unusually mild fall. Snowshoe’s Opening Day was planned for Wednesday, November 25th, but the resort has seen only 4” of natural snowfall since early October, and has had very few chances to make snow for sustained periods, due to mild temperatures.

  • Attitash Wishbone Jib Rail Jam

  • Sugar Bowl Resort to Open on Wednesday November 25th

    Donner Summit, CA – Sugar Bowl Resort announced today that opening day for the 2009/10 ski season, the resort’s 70th, will be Wednesday, November 25th. Both the White Pine and Jerome Hill chairlifts will be running, and the Judah Lodge will be open to accommodate all lift ticket, season pass, food & beverage, rental and lesson needs.

  • Whistler Blackcomb Breaks November Snowfall Record

    Whistler, BC – Whistler Blackcomb has officially surpassed the previous record of snow in the month of November with 418cm (165 inches) of snow falling as of Thursday, November 19. The previous record, set in 2006, was 416cm (164 inches). The snowfall record dates back to 1979.

  • Copper opens new terrain and 22 ft superpipe opening soon

    On Friday November 20, Copper Mountain’s American Flyer Lift will open for the season with skiing and riding on High Point and Loverly trails. With this additional terrain opening, Copper will have 5 lifts in operation with 8 trails and 130 acres.
