Saturday March 16th 2007 Stratton, VT woke up to cloudy, dark and very cold sky's. Slopestyle pre- qualifiers and qualifiers had been cancelled the day before due to winds and rain all day. The course was hard and fast and everybody was having a much better time clearing all the jumps. Things got started around 10:30 - 11:00 am just as a storm started rolling in. Mid semi finals it started dumping hard, the wind picked up and speed started to become an issue. The guys were throwing down in a three run best run final. Travis Rice was unstoppable and the condition didn't effect him or his riding as he had no trouble on the jumps throwing a huge rodeo 720 ( earing him best trick ) and multiple spin combos in his runs. Shaun White and Euro Janne Korpi also where landing some solid runs rounding up the 2nd and 3rd spots.
The ladies did their thing but speed proved to me a major issue for most of them. Young Jamie Anderson rose the top and was hitting and clearing all the big lips thrown down a solid cab 540 ( winner her best trick) and couple of front side three's and defiantly stood of from the rest of the pack. Aussie Torah Bright rolled into 2nd and Jenny Jone's rounded up 3rd place for the Womens 2007 US Open Slopestyle Championships.
