Robbie Walker Wins Burton’s 3rd Annual Cattleman’s Rail Jam at Mt Buller

Melbourne, Australia - Australia’s best snowboarders descended on Mt Buller, (Victoria) last night for the 3rd Annual Cattleman’s Rail Jam presented by Burton.

10 invited riders and 5 wildcard entries battled it out on Mt Buller’s famed Cattleman’s Rail. This multi-feature stair set-up sits in the middle of Mt Buller’s village square and apart from this contest remains largely untouched. Riders came from all over Australia to throw down and included Robbie Walker, Chris Eacott, Tom Pelley, Ben Willick, Jye Kearney and Mikey Williams. With only an hour to session the rail, it didn’t take long for riders to cover all the possible lines on the stair set that included a 13 stair centre and side rails, a 5 flat 13 stair side kink rail, gap to centre rail and a mean flat bar transfer.

Robbie Walker was so consistent all night it’s hard to say if he even fell once. He took out first place after destroying all features, including a gap 270 to front board, gap cab 270 to front board, nose press 270 out and solid 5-0 front 180 outs.

“This is one of my favourite contests. The crowd and the atmosphere really push the riders,” said Robbie. Stepping up to the never before hit flat bar transfer with a backside 50-50 to noseslide, Tom Pelley tied with Mikey Williams for second place who, as a veteran of the rail jam, once again owned the gap rail with front 270’s, front boards and backlips. Jye Kearney took out best trick with a backside 50-50 transfer to lipslide and took away a Pit Pro mini dirt bike.

With the official after party kicking off right after the event, the contest time wasn’t enough for Robbie Walker and whilst everyone else downed as much free beer as possible, Robbie continued into the night to get some extra shots while he could.
