Aspen/Snowmass Village, CO – Aspen Skiing Company (ASC) is pleased to announce the promotion of David Perry to Senior Vice President, Mountain Division; Rich Burkley to Vice President, Mountain Operations; and Jeanne Mackowski to Vice President, Marketing. The moves were made as part of a restructuring under new CEO Mike Kaplan.

David Perry has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Mountain Division, reporting to Mike Kaplan. Perry will now have overall responsibility for ASC’s Mountain Business Division, including all mountain operations in addition to his current portfolio that covers Marketing, Sales, Events, Tickets/Guest Services, Public Relations and Food and Beverage.
Perry has been with ASC for four years as Senior Vice President, and has been in the mountain resort business for nearly 30 years. He has been instrumental in re-energizing the Aspen/Snowmass brand and building marketing and sales synergies between the resort and the community.
Rich Burkley has been promoted to Vice President, Mountain Operations, reporting to David Perry. In addition to his current responsibilities with our four mountains and Ski & Snowboard School, he will now oversee the Customer Service division as well.
Burkley joined ASC in 1989, working as payroll manager until 1992 and then financial analyst until 1996, when he joined the Ski School, where he served as managing director from 1998 to 2005. In 2005 he was named General Manager, Mountain Operations.
Jeanne Mackowski has been promoted to Vice President, Marketing, and will report directly to David Perry. In addition to her current marketing responsibilities, she will now oversee the Public Relations Department as well.
Mackowski joined ASC in 1998, first as communications coordinator and subsequently as creative services manager. She was promoted to Director of Marketing in 2001.
