Bonfire Hosts 10th Annual Pipe To Pipe At Windell’s on Mt. Hood
Portland, Ore. — Bonfire Snowboarding will once again be hosting the 10th annual Pipe to Pipe Competition on Mt. Hood this summer. Bust out your flannel and get in touch with your west coast roots at the only laid back summer competition that allows ams, pros, skaters and snowboarders to throw down in a friendly competition from snow to cement.
Pipe to Pipe’s format allows kids of all ages to ride against the pros June 29th and July 20th. The day starts with a rail jam at Windell’s Snowboard Camp on the infamous Palmer Snowfield of Timberline Resort. In the afternoon, the event becomes a jam-format skate competition, which takes place on the street course at Windell’s in Sandy, Oregon, just off Hwy. 26. Scotty “The Body” Conerly will be returning to MC the event. Competitors and spectators can also expect live music, a B-B-Q hosted by Windell’s and lots of prizes.
The event is open to the public with a signed camp liability waiver. The pros compete for a winner-takes all cash prize of $1,000 each for the men and women. Bragging rights and $1,000 from Gore-Tex will go to the best overall combined result from snow and skate for the two Pipe to Pipe events.
Ams compete for prizes and a chance to receive a 1-year Bonfire outerwear sponsorship and a spot on the Rookie team. Two male and two female amateur winners from both event dates will then enter their best photos, resumes and videos to Bonfire. Global Team rider, Josh Sherman and the staff at Bonfire Head Quarters will be choosing the best rider from the pool of winners.
Bonfire Global team riders Chad Otterstrom, Josh Dirksen, Leanne Pelosi and National team riders Matt Ladley, Trevor Jacob, Kevin Casillo, Josh Sherman, Ally Carroll, Bev Vuilleumier and Ross Baker will all be competing in the snow rail jam alongside campers and staff from both Windell’s and HCSC.
