Brighton Utah | 2007 Three Day Update

Brighton Utah | 2007 Three Day Update

Event info from John Centi 12/31/2007

Brighton Day: 1 was a good day.  The first decent storm of December had dropped about two feet during previous two days and this was the first clear, blue bird day after the storm.  Being new to Utah and all the mountains I was stoked to finally get the chance to start exploring the endless out of bounds terrain Brighton has to offer.  After a late start on the day we headed to a zone off Crest lift where we started boot packing our way up to the top of this mellow fun looking bumpy slope.  Everybody had a good little session with some ollies, rock rides, slashes and good hike to start getting your legs in shape.

Brighton Utah is a very unique place.  Its the type of resort I have only seen in my dreams prior to actually loading the "Chairway to Heaven".  One of the coolest things about Brighton is any snowboarder can head up the canyon with only 10 dollars left over from last nights party and still afford to get a lift pass and tear it up at this resort.  Andrew Miller and I took advantage of this "one lift" pass deal to access the various terrain available.  As soon as we reached the top we were met by brothers Mac and Sam Spedale and Brett.  And the photo story begins...

This was at the top of the ridge we hiked just a short 100 yards from the lift.

Mac Spedale is an amazing snowboarder that lives in Utah, keeps it as real as it gets, and tears shit up.  No doubt.

Dont be scared to hike.  Your personal white room is waiting just over the next ridge.  Keep on trucking.

Brighton Day: 3

Day three of riding Brighton Utah worked out pretty funny.  Andrew, Mac and I went out expecting to be the only riders in the backcountry zones for the third day in a row, but fortunately we ended up running into Sam Spedale, Brett and Joseph.  It was almost a perfect timing thing.  In round three we planned to knock Brighton out and we did just that.  We got our one time lift pass and headed up the hill, instead of hiking right off the bat, Mac guided us to a zone that was nothing less than perfect.  For a snowboarder with some bright eyes and a big imagination the options of ride able terrain is endless. We hiked, saw some sick shit, then hiked more and saw even more.  Begin the photo story.....
