Gigi, DCP and Jussi hit the Goods in Nelson, BC

Justin Hostynek, from Absinthe Films, has been posted up in the snowy hippie town of Nelson, B.C. for the past several weeks and Burton photographer, Jeff Curtes, was lucky enough to get an invite to join the crew. Jeff was just in time to catch Burton riders Gigi Rüf, DCP and Jussi as they passed through town.
Gigi really turned things up on the trip charging everything the crew hit. One of the standout sessions included a perfectly patted-down step-down in the high alpine that Gigi absolutely tore apart. He was on fire, nailing four perfect film segments within an hour’s time.
As a bonus, DCP and Jussi passed through Nelson to spend a couple of days on good snow. The crew blasted through a low cloud ceiling and were able to access some epic terrain with surprisingly good weather making for some banger shots. It’s an amazing thing when a group of talented snowboarders get together and feed off of each other like this crew did for three days. DCP was hiking for everything, Gigi was straight charging and Jussi was just stoked to be out in the soft snow and away from the madness of X-Games.
After the three days, the crew split and headed different ways. Jussi and DCP took off to another location in BC to get some more shooting done and Gigi jumped on a plane headed for Japan to meet up with Tadashi and David Benedek.

Natasza, Kelly and Spencer Hit Good Snow in Japan

Kelly Clark, Natasza Zurek and Spencer O’Brien also hit the North Island of Japan this week. They have been cruising around getting some shots with photographer Chris Owen and filmer, Yuka, from the Transworld Japan crew. Everyone was super jet lagged from travels, but the crew pulled it together and had a blast getting some good lines in the fresh snow.
There is no need for pricey lift tickets or snowmobiles with tons of easily accessible terrain by the roadside. As the crew drove along, they kept their eyes peeled for good looking terrain and got some sick pillow lines and snow covered tree jibs. With incredible untracked terrain everywhere they looked, the ladies were able to get some great backcountry style shots only minutes away from the road.
