Help is on the way to the lowland porters in Nepal. Falls Creek Ski Lifts has donated hundreds of last year’s outdoor staff uniforms to the Porters’ Progress organisation. Albury-based Stuart McLean will deliver them to the Porter’s Progress organisation.
“When my group of about 30 go to Nepal in September, to do the Everest Circuit, I will ask each member to take some of the donated uniforms with them, " said McLean.
But to do that Stuart needs appropriate bags to stuff the donated outdoor clothing into for the flight from Australia to Nepal.
"They don't need to be new and they (the bags) will be used over there as well."
McLean, who has completed 10-12 trips to Nepal, can be contacted on mobile +61- 412 967 656.
McLean added: “Handing over this enormous amount of appropriate clothing, to the Nepal-based Porter’s Progress organization, will help keep porters alive while on the trail."
