Grenade Hits Amsterdam
by Danny Kass
After leaving Japan we took a flight from Tokyo to Washington for 13 hours. Then a flight all the way to Amsterdam in seven, and instead of going straight to London for the next stop, we decided to sightsee in Amsterdam since we had a few extra days in-between premieres. As soon as we got in, we checked into a Hotel and then hit the streets. We searched for skate spots but it seemed that the cobble stones roads have not been worked on in a few hundred years.
So we just walked around until we found the scariest rollercoaster I have ever seen. I wanted nothing to do with this ride that went around in a circle at 75 mph hitting the peak at 150 ft in the air. However Scotty, Dingo and Magoon ended up talking me into it.
At the top I looked over Amsterdam and thought I was going to have a heart attack. It was the biggest carnival ride I had ever been on. As I gripped the bar for my life listening to Scotty talk about how we could die and the thing might open up. He looked over and said “Wow Danny, your knuckles are white.” Then Magoon says “Dan just go with it,” and I yell back “I’m going with it! I can’t not go with it; I am stuck going with it!”
I have never been so happy than the moment I got my feet back on the ground. I turned to Dingo and asked if he liked it and he just gave me huge thumbs up.
After this we checked out the Red-Light district where I found my store.
We then capped the night off with the longest hour-long boat ride through the canals. It was so beautiful at first but it went on for way too long. You know what they say… If you’ve seen one canal you’ve seen them all!
After being awake for what seemed like a week after all of the travelling, we called it a night after one more loop through the Red-Light district.
The next morning we hopped some trains and headed to the airport to fly to London. When we got there we found out it was only 20 Kilos a person, then 10 Euros to a kilo after that. We looked at the 30-Kil sticker box filled with 3,000 stickers and about half our luggage. We were facing a fee of over 1,500USD, so Carolla manned up and took a train to London with six bags because it needed to be done. So word to the wise, pack lightly and bring a big backpack to Europe. Thanks for taking one for the team!
Just three more stops along The Boned Age tour don’t miss out:
