General Info:

All interns should be excellent students, hard workers, show initiative and be crazy-organized. All of these positions are non-paying for now, though we are reworking the budget to see if we can offer a small stipend in the future. Snowboarders are encouraged. Hours are flexible, our offices are  in Portland.

Although these are primarily marketing positions, all interns will have the opportunity to participate in and influence creative work (brand/print/web/fashion) to varying degrees depending on personal experience and interest. Many of the marketing efforts include design work as part of their primary responsibilities (email blasts, web banners, promotions, signage etc.).

Marketing:

Social + New Media Intern

* Mentored by the Creative Director.
* Work with the CD to expand/develop/maintain social networking and interactive outreach; help Grenade move beyond internet into honest-to-goodness interaction.
* Work with the CEO, Creative Director, sales team, and fellow interns to promote the Grenade brand and events.
* This intern will have the rare opportunity to follow major interactive projects from conception to completion.
* Opportunity to work with both design and marketing teams.

Grenade Army Intern

(The Army is one of our most important sales and branding efforts; they are a group of devoted fans and customers who pay membership fees and receive special info and promotions)

* Mentored by the CD and CEO.
* Intern will collaborate with the entire Grenade team in all aspects of expanding/enticing/encouraging new and active memberships.
* Opportunity to work with both design and marketing teams.

Traditional Media Intern

* This intern will report to both the CD and Vice President of International Sales.
* Help with press releases/press kit/newsletters—must be a skilled copywriter.
* Opportunity to gain an understanding of local, national, and International media.

Business:

Research +Analytics Intern

* Work with the CEO, Production Manager, and VP of International Sales to gather and analyze Grenade's product, sales and marketing data and also that of our competitors.
* Gain an understanding of how well, and why, individual product sales and specific marketing campaigns are successful.

About Grenade

We are a 9-year-old Portland-based action sports company owned by two-time Olympic Silver Medalist snowboarder Danny Kass. Our CEO is former Microsoft executive Joseph Condorelli. What started with gloves has evolved into a full line of outerwear and street wear. Everything is designed in-house. We love sports, art and design. We are committed to growing our brand without compromising our ideals. We do it for the kids.

We are here to stand up for what we believe is wild-crazy and fun. Our mission is to make the best quality product at the lowest possible pricing for our standard issue shredders. We make products we think are cool and crazy. It is not about the norm, but fun and edgy designs. We are the youth. We are not owned by a larger brand trying to be young, we are young. We make mistakes, and we do things right and new. It is all about snowboarding and skating for us, but we love all crazy sports except fighting. — Danny Kass
