If Ullr Was A Girl Competition Roster Announced
Contest to run April 13 – 16 during TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival
Whistler, BC – Contest judges for “If Ullr Was a Girl” have chosen the final four wildcard contestants, to compete alongside pro skiers and snowboarders in the second annual all-girl competition, hosted by Whistler Blackcomb.
Amateur skiers Kristie Geiles and Jenny Strong will compete with pro skiers Shidasha Holmstead, Jen Hudak, Sarah Burke, Erin Kerr, Ariana Stufano, and Jess Cumming.
Meanwhile, amateur snowboarders Michelle Zeller and Caley Vanular will join snowboard pros Bev Vuilleumier, Celia Miller, Spencer O'Brien, Jordie Karlinski, Dominique Vallee, and Robin Van Gyn.
This group of rippin’ chicks will compete for a grand prize of $25,000 and the bragging rights of being crowned this year’s Ullr Girl. Competitors will participate in three on-mountain events and one arts and culture event to prove who is the ultimate mountain woman.
The If Ullr Was a Girl contest runs during the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival. The Ullr Big Mountain competition takes place on Sunday, April 13 FROM 11:30am-2:30pm; Ullr Superpipe comp runs Monday, April 14 from 10am-11am; and the Ullr Nikita Chikita Jib Session finishes off the on-mountain portion of the contest on Tuesday, April 15 from 1pm-2pm. Contestants will also demonstrate their art and culture skills in the Ullr Unleashed on the evening of April 16 at the Wildwood Bistro & Bar from 7:30pm-12:30am.
Last year, skier Grete Eliassen won the competition and was crowned with the Ullr Girl Viking helmet and awarded a cheque for $25,000. The Minnesota native graciously donated her entire earnings to Women's Sports Foundation, the Stand Strong Again organization and a hunger relief organization.
