June Mountain to open Tomorrow
Mammoth Lakes, CA - A winter storm that began early this morning has already dumped eight inches of new snow on June Mountain Ski Area, allowing resort operators to open the slopes for the first time this season on Friday, January 5.
June has received 48 inches of snow this season and is opening tomorrow with a 12-24 inch base of fresh and packed powder. Conditions permitting, June expects to have four chairlifts in operations tomorrow: J1, J2, J3 and J7. All terrain is expected to be open with the exceptions of the chutes, Deer Bowl, Davos Drop, Powder Chute and Sunset.
June Unbound will also have terrain features up and running on Mambo tomorrow, including boxes and rails. The Unbound Crew plans to open the Sunrise Park as soon as conditions permit.
