KILLINGTON, Vt. – Killington Resort’s Adventure Center summer kickoff raised $4,350 for the United Way of Rutland County on Friday, June 30. More than 400 guests donated $10 to the United Way to enjoy a full day of Adventure Center activities, including the Alpine Slides, climbing wall, the Bungee Thing and mini-golf at Pico Mountain; water slides, lift-served hiking and mountain biking via the K-1 Gondola and climbing wall at Killington. In addition, many others enjoyed discounted greens fees at the Killington Golf Course as Killington donated $10 from every greens fee to the United Way.
“We were overwhelmed with the generosity of area residents who supported the United Way and enjoyed all the summer activities we have to offer at Killington and Pico,” said Rachel Webster, summer marketing manager for Killington Resort. Last December, Pico Mountain raised more than $6,600 for the United Way through a Pico Card promotion.
“We love to partner with area business and we can’t thank Killington and Pico enough for their support,” said Chuck Sharp, executive director of the United Way of Rutland County. “Promotions such as this not only increase our fundraising, but create awareness for the United Way and the many programs we support right here in Rutland County.”
More than 100 guests participated in five out of the seven activities offered at both Killington and Pico and received a 2-for-1 lift ticket coupon valid for the 2006-07 season and were entered to win one of three Killington and Pico winter season passes. The season pass winners were Melissa Garrow of Rutland Town, VT.; Rachel Querido of Miller Place, NY; and Caroline LaCoille of Pittsford, VT.
