March Storm Drops 6 To 8 Inches Of New Snow

Wrightwood, CA – Mountain High’s first spring storm of 2008 left them with six to eight inches of new snow.  As day breaks, light snow flurries continue to fall and forecasters say another one to two inches are possible.  Snow levels are at 5,000 feet or lower meaning the nearby towns of Wrightwood and Phelan received their fair share as well.  To date Mountain High has seen 124 inches of natural snow which is less than its traditional average but four times what the Southern California resort received last season.  Currently both the East and West Resorts are open with nearly every lift and trail available.  The coverage is excellent and only 50% of the mountain has been groomed leaving many trails untouched and covered in fresh snow.

Says John McColly, Director of Marketing, “Forget the beach this Spring Break.  With six to eight inches of new snow and student discounts, Mountain High is the place you want to be.”

Mountain High currently has two spring ticket promotions to help guests keep in touch with the snow and their wallets.  All students receive an adult, 8-hour lift ticket for just $39.00 (regularly $51.00) when they show their student ID.  Non-students receive a Bounce-Back coupon for 50% off their next midweek visit this season.  These offers are not valid in conjunction with any other discount or promotion.  Please visit mthigh.com for complete details.

About Mountain High

Mountain High is Southern California’s closest winter resort with three mountains, 16 lifts, and 59 trails.  With the new snow, resort operators offer April 20th as their prospective closing date however the area will remain open as long as weather permits, and it is not uncommon to see one or even two snow storms in April.
