Mountain Dew Night Sessions 3 Results
Lake Wanaka, New Zealand - Snow Park NZ’s now infamous stair set feature was under lights again last night for Round Three of the Mountain Dew Night Sessions Rail Jam. With only one more night session to go before the invitiational finale riders last night were stepping it up to get the points required to enter the finale which has a prize pool of NZ$9000!
Registrations closed at 5pm with a total of 25 competitors in round three, the field including a mix of local and international riders keen to participate. Repeat entrants in the female field included riders Callie Conaghan, Shelly Gotlieb and Charlotte Trundle while the men’s field included current men’s leader in points Jordan Reher, plus Snow Park employees James Callagher and Hamish Martin.
A brief practice session lead into the 90 minute jam session where the riders really went all out to impress the panel of judges. MC Zinny was entertaining as always with support from local DJ Concrete Mixer pumping out the punk tunes. Competitors were judged on style and technicality of tricks, all vying for a $500 cash prize pool and $500 of Quest Snowboard store vouchers.
Final results saw Wes Walsh take out the first male prize of $300 cash and 9 points towards his final standing in the series. Jordan Reher (19) followed closely in second place gaining 6 points and a $200 Quest voucher and third place was taken by Dillon James receiving $100 Quest voucher and 3 points.
In the female division, Christy Prior placed first receiving $200 cash and 9 points, followed by fellow Queenstown local and Snow Park NZ team rider Shelly Gotlieb ($150 Quest voucher – 6 points) and Maia Stier (17) placing third ($50 Quest Voucher – 3 points).

The next Mountain Dew Night Sessions event is scheduled for August 28. The invitational final is set for Friday, September 5th.
Snow Park NZ marketing manager Claire Jackson said “the night sessions has built up some hype with riders all very keen to make it through to the invitational”, adding that evening competition has really complemented the new nightriding activities Snow Park has to offer this season.
