Mt. Hood Meadows Neighborhood Bus Programs Ready to Roll

Weekend buses start January 6 and 7 and Midweek buses begin January 9, 10, 11

Mt. Hood, Or – It’s a tradition that has been running for more than 30 years now – weekend and midweek bus trips delivering mountain enthusiasts of all ages to Mt. Hood Meadows for ski and snowboard trips. The buses come from every neighborhood throughout the greater Portland and Vancouver metropolitan area, picking up at schools, churches and community centers. In total more than 100 buses each week will bring skiers and snowboarders to the mountain for skiing and snowboarding recreation.

TRIPS PACKAGED IN MULTI-WEEK FORMAT THROUGH ADVISOR NETWORK

Weekend bus trips are offered on consecutive Saturdays or Sundays in January or February, while midweek trips package consecutive Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Meadows also offers structured ski and snowboard programs and packages to coincide with the bus schedule. Group organizers called “Advisors” are currently signing up participants through schools, churches and other social organizations. The buses are chaperoned to provide assistance to riders both on the bus and once they arrive at the ski area. The multi-week sessions range in length from four to eight weeks and packages include lift tickets, lessons and equipment rentals.

WEEKEND PROGRAMS INCLUDE SNO-BLASTERS, TRAILBLAZERS AND HIGH SCHOOL

Weekend (consecutive Saturday or Sunday) programs include Sno-Blasters for elementary school age - four hours of on snow instruction each day with supervision before, between and after the sessions. Chaperones attend to these young skiers and snowboarders, accompanying them from the bus through the rental shop and on to the Sno-Blaster room where they meet their instructors. It is a fully supervised and comprehensive program, and has been an institution at Meadows for almost 20 years.
Middle school aged skiers and snowboarders join Trailblazers – which packages a two hour lesson each day with lift tickets and rentals. There are also high school and adult packages available. The January sessions begin Saturday, January 6 and Sunday, January 7. February sessions begin Saturday February 3 and Sunday February 4.

MIDWEEK ADULT BUS PROGRAMS START JANUARY 9, 10 AND 11

Meadows offers adult bus programs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in January and February. Most adults riding the buses sign up for six or eight week sessions in advance to receive the best pricing on lift ticket, lesson and equipment rental packages. The midweek bus program began more than 30 years ago and is a great way to join up with and discover ski and snowboard buddies.
