Victoria, Australia - Mt Buller has opened more terrain just one week after the resort commenced lift operations for the 2007 snow season. With up to 45cm of snow cover in the snowmaking areas, Mt Buller guests are enjoying good skiing and boarding conditions in all areas open.
Favourable cold conditions this week and extensive snowmaking means Mt Buller now has 8 lifts open. These include; Cattleman’s Carpet, Blue Bullet 1, Blue Bullet 2, the Summit Chairlift, Koflers T-bar, Skyline T-bar and the Wombat Chair. The addition of the Skyline T-bar and Wombat Chair allows skiers and boarders more access to intermediate terrain in the Wombat bowl area, including one of Mt Buller’s most popular runs, Little Buller Spur.
Fine conditions today sees skiers and boarders basking in blue skies and sunshine, with a top of four degrees. A cold front forecast tomorrow will bring more snow showers to the alpine areas, continuing right through until Tuesday.
“We’ll be reviewing lift operations daily and opening more lifts and terrain as soon as we can. Snowmaking is in full swing across the resort and we have enjoyed great conditions and strong visitation since the commencement of the season,” he said.
Lift tickets are currently AU$92 for adults and AU$49 for children, including all secondary students up to year 12.
To increase the free rider’s on-snow experience this weekend, Mt Buller has opened the first of the three Mt Buller Parks, located on the Baldy run. Four fantastic feature rails together with a huge big air jump on the Summit provide Mt Buller guests with more variety in terrain.
