No Correct Way Boston Premiere
This past Sunday Rome threw a premiere for No Correct Way at McGreevy’s Pub in Boston. Around 6:30 the crowd slowly started to shift from Patriots clad football fans to Boston’s shred population with around 200 or so local and not so local shreds (some driving from distances like Montréal) showing up for the movie.
Rome riders LNP, MFR, Will Lavigne and Sylvia Mittermuler were all in town to hang out, slap high 5’s, sign some posters and enjoy a couple drinks. It was Will’s 21st birthday, a bigger deal in the US than in Canada where 18 is the 21, but another reason to get rowdy none the less.
McGreevy’s may have expected a smaller crowd and initially thought that the downstairs would work to show the film to the whole crew, but by 7 it was pretty clear it would be shoulder to shoulder snowboarders, and the bar ended up playing the movie over the entire bar upstairs and down. People were definitely stoked on the film, anything that can get a heavy partying crowd like that to quiet down except for a few holy shits and collective cheers is pretty rad.
After the movie it was time to celebrate a bit more. There was an under 21 schwag toss out on Boylston street, which helped clear a good portion of underage kids out of the bar. In the bar Waterville Valley was hooking people up with passes and people were grabbing a bunch of Rome gear including a new Artifact that was won by a guy who can ingest liquids faster than that dude who used to be on the Man Show. There was even a late night cameo by Dropkick Murphy’s Ken Casey who was really stoked on LNP and his own personal brand of style.
All in all a great night, that lasted well into the morning. Huge thanks to McGreevy’s for having us and putting on such a good time, Tom Creamer and Back East Clothing, Waterville Valley and everyone else who came out to hang, The EB crew, Greg and the Snowboard Jones Crew, NOTB, Underground, the Loon guys, Red Sox Grounds, Burlington, BU Snowboarders and everyone else.
