Australia - Opening day of skiing and boarding got off to a thumping good start at Perisher Blue yesterday! We are expecting plenty more keen skiers and boarders to hit the slopes of Front Valley today, especially with the opening of the Village Eight Express, Australia's only eight seater chairlift, expected from midday onwards. A fine and mostly sunny day is expected again for today.
50 snowmaking machines have been firing overnight to top up the firm snow base across Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes and Blue Cow. A ridge of high pressure is likely to maintain fine conditions across the resorts until Saturday, when we should start to see snowfalls!
