Red Bull Snowscrapers was six hours of Music, New Yalk Sausages, icy temperatures and a feature snowboard contest on a 90-foot drop in ramp to a 30-foot tall double sided step up hip.

Red Bull was able to confirm an all star 16 rider line up including Terje Haakonsen, Shayne Pospisil, Scotty Lago, Travis Rice, Bjorn Leines, Shaun White, Pat Moore, Dustin Craven, Heiki Sorsa, Eero Ettala, Jack Mitrani, Mikkel Bang, Andreas Wiig, Torstein Horgmo, JJ Thomas and Daniel Ek.

Red Bull hit it big on this one, dropping around 1.7 on the event, mad respect to them for bringing this to snowboarding, and for bringing snowboarding to a ton of City Locals that don’t get exposed to such an amazing video.  Around twenty five thousand City Dwellers came out in to the bitter cold and tolerated it just to watch this show go down.

Snow Park Technologies built a badass hip and used freight stacks where used to build the drop in ramp, which rose ninety feet high and mimicked a New York City skyscraper, hence the name Snowscrapers.

The practice began at 6:00 pm and the riders were stoked on the set up but the speed was a definite issue.   Red Bull even had a tow winch that would get the riders up to 40 mph in a short few seconds.  Not too many riders were using it because it would nearly rip their arms out of the socket.  I definitely saw Travis, Moore and Lago all use it with no problem but the preferred drop in style was the two-man slingshot.

Shayne Pospisil shined tonight in front of a familiar crowd of New Jersey based family and friends.  He had the largest fan club in this event and they were going wild when the results came in.  He moved from prelims to a semi final that was head-to-head format where he took out Terje Haakonsen and moved to the semi-finals.  In the semi-finals two Scotty Lago and Shayne battled it out.  As Shayne moved on he faced Norwegian trick stomping maniac, so needless to say the battle was a great one.  Shayne fucking turned on the afterburners and sent some serious moves including a backside 900, alley oop frontside 360 stalefish and a huge backside seven.

This event was a major success for Red Bull, for Shayne Pospisil and the riders that got to shred, the citizens of New York, and for the Snowrev crew because we were stoked to be there.
