Sierra-at-Tahoe® Resort opening Today for the 2006-2007 Winter Season
South Lake Tahoe, Calif. – Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort is officially kicking off the 2006-2007 season and opening the mountain on Friday, December 1! Mother Nature dropped 11 inches of fresh snow on Sierra ™ Resort this week, allowing the resort to start turning the Easy Rider and Rock Garden chairlifts, open three trails (Broadway, Lower Sleighride and Echo) accessing beginner terrain, and a small-medium terrain park featuring a shark fin box, barrel bonks, flat rails and boxes.
Sierra Resort will be open on weekdays – including opening day – from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and weekends from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Early season lift tickets are available for just $25 for adults and young adults, and $10 for children ages five through 12 (under five ski for free).
Lessons for adults interested in learning how to ski or snowboard will be available on a limited basis, and both Wild Mountain children’s ski school, and Sierra Resort’s daycare will be open. The resort’s retail store, repair shop, and the ski and snowboard rental shop are open, and those looking to grab a bite to eat can hit up Mama’s Kitchen or The Pub.
