Sno-Kona Pond Skim Competition At Mt. Hood Meadows
Up to 200 “skimmers” will ski or snowboard across an 80 foot pond right in the base area Trip for two to Hawaii first place prize
Mt. Hood, OR - Mt. Hood Meadows will present its second annual Sno-Kona Pond Skim competition Saturday April 26, presented by Kona Brewing and All About Hawaii Travel.
Intrepid “skimmers” in search of glory, bragging rights and possibly a trip to Hawaii will attempt to “skim” across the 80 foot pond wearing skis or snowboard. First place wins a trip for two to Hawaii, including air fare and lodging. The contest is limited to 200 skimmers who can preregister online for just $25 – details at skihood.com. Competitors must be 121 or older to participate. There’s no charge to watch the event, which will be presented right in the base area.
The Retroactive Gamma Ray band will perform Saturday and Sunday, serving up surf music. And a Hawaiian flavored menu will be served both days on the Paradise Grill Sun Deck.
