Snow Park NZ will be opening on June 29th with groundbreaking new developments on and off the hill for 2006!
Triple Jump Line:
The famous Snow Park triple jump line has undergone construction this summer, now a permanent feature built out of dirt. Over 100 groomer and snowmaking hours have been saved in the process which are now able to be dedicated to other areas of the park.
First artificial cliff drop at a winter resort:
Snow Park has stepped up this season to create an artificial 4m (13 ft) cliff drop. Located towards the bottom end of the newly widened ‘Box Run’, this feature promises to entertain riders and spectators for hours.
Beginner and Intermediate areas improved:
Snow Park has spent time sculpting the beginner and intermediate areas to perfection.
Events:
The 2006 events calendar showcases the talents of the worlds best snowboarders and skiers, as well as giving everyone the opportunity to compete in fun, relaxed formats. This year we will be hosting the Burton Open!
Switch Academy:
Designed to provide guidance, coaching and support, Switch Academy is a youth development program dedicated to freestyle skiing and snowboarding. Head coaches are Marty Jillings and Rachel Newton.
