Steamboat Springs, CO - Steamboat’s 2006/2007 season cumulative snowfall surpassed the 250-inch mark at mid-mountain due to a series of storms that has dropped three feet of fresh Champagne Powder snow over the past three days.

"Steamboat has some of the best snow in the Rocky Mountains, the largest mid-mountain base of the major Colorado destination resorts, and a summit base that’s approaching 85 inches,” said Andy Wirth, vice president of sales & marketing for Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. "Steamboat is definitely showing why it is the home of Champagne Powder and will be in great shape as the resort gears up for the upcoming Spring Break period.”

The resort has seen snow 15 out of 26 days (57.7%) this month, with 9 of those days recording more than four inches.

"This past weekend is being called one of the best powder weekends this season by our local powderhounds, and it still has not stopped snowing,” continued Wirth. "February is shaping up to be remembered as a legendary Steamboat snow month, full of incredible, waist deep powder days. With February going out like a lion, Mother Nature’s attention is definitely squarely focused on Steamboat-Ski Town, U.S.A.® and skiers/riders couldn’t be happier!”
