London Gets Boned
by Danny Kass

I’m writing this story as I fly over Greenland looking at ice capped mountains. Excited to be on our way home or what I call home these days. After staying up late doing an interview for the new White Lines Magazine we were off to scope out the Big air at the famous London power plant. It was made of 63 million bricks and is apparently the largest brick building in London and possibly Eastern Europe. It was once a power plant and now is an option of becoming the new Grenade glove and outerwear Factory! This is also where we would be premiering the Boned Age on Saturday night, right after the snowboard Big Air finals.

After hanging around for a few hours and scoping the jump, we were off to make it rain stickers all over a local tradeshow and do a little Grenade guerrilla marketing with Lucas and the Dingo. The next morning due to the warm weather and sunny skies the jump practice was postponed until the next day so they could make more snow.

Dingo became the tour guide and got the group together to go check out the sights.

I never knew Dingo was so good at guiding tours around London but he knew all the hot spots. When we where at the Queens pad Lucas talked me into olling the monument dedicated to Victoria and the Queens…I think.

After landing this, the Queen actual appeared and waved one hand from her window and took a big sip of tea.

We then walked a mile or so to the likes of Big Ben. I must admit Big Ben had never tickled my fancy but this really is a breath taking photo of the House of Parliament and I would suggest getting a shot like this if you get close enough.

Then we all went and had some local fish and chips to stay traditional. The next morning we were up in a hurry not knowing what heats we were in and when we were supposed to practice.

We made it just in time to get one practice jump before the event started. I forgot this was a FIS event and actually got disqualified for going inverted to early in competition.

To many ski rules to remember, but Scotty had his FIS hand book and found out that a backside nine would get him into the final and it did! Since Scotty had made it into finals, it was time to break out some secret wax techniques I had learned in my early USASA events.

With the fastest board in the lineup Scotty said he would end the Boned Age tour with a special trick for Dingo and I. We got so excited we rushed up to the pump deck. Scotty got a frontside 1080 Indy but grabbed to long and was penalized in points for some reason.

Then in their very anti climatic final jump format Scotty screamed the Boned Age as he approached the jump. He launched higher and farther then any one stomping a double backside rodeo flip landing fakie! The crown went nuts, hell I went nuts it was the best thing anyone had seen all day and he was rewarded for it. I would have got a photo but my eyeballs popped out of my head. The crowd went wild when the announced Scotty Lago and the best TRICK award.

After the event Trouble had a great show with many new tracks, great show we partied back stage with them until the Boned Age premiere.

Then to close down the night Cypress Hill! I got the best shots of them front row. No big deal.

Wow our first time to London and it was a smash. London GOT BONED.
