The Good Life Festival A Benefit for Squaw Employee Maddison Page

Event info from John Centi 5/1/2008

The Good Life Festival: A Benefit for Maddison Page Saturday, May 10

There is a girl who needs your help. Her name is Maddison Page, she has cancer, and she has been given three months to live. She is 21 years old.

[Squaw Valley USA] - Squaw Valley Ski Corp, CharitySmith, and friends ask that everyone come out for a day of celebration, life, love and hope to raise funds for the very special Maddison Page. The Good Life Festival: A Benefit for Maddison Page is taking place in the Olympic Village Lodge in Squaw Valley at 4 pm on Saturday, May 10. The day will be filled with live music and entertainment, a raffle, and the opportunity to help make the things Maddy has wanted to do in her lifetime a reality, in a small window of time. In lieu of an entry fee, donations are requested at the door, and all donations are fully tax deductible.

An excerpt from maddisonpage.blogspot.com/:

So, if you were in her place, a twenty one year-old beautiful and amazing person, how would you decide to spend the last days of your life? How could you whittle down everything you should have had a lifetime to pursue into three short months? That is the task she has had to face. Harder though is what to which she seems to be deliberately blind: How do you fund that list? Her list is huge, that is to say that it is fantastic in its scope, but she’s too positive a person ever to doubt that she’ll get to do all these amazing things.

Based on Maddison's story and passion, CharitySmith Founder, Brooks H. Rohlen, MD, has selected Maddison Page as the 2008 Doug Smith Memorial Fund Grant recipient.

The Douglas F. Smith Memorial Fund has been offered since 1994 to a student, artist, or athlete within the United States. As a general guideline, recipients are notable for an understanding of excellence as demonstrated through persistence and hard work. Recipients exemplify the concept of victory as earned in the monotonous and committed moments, where often alone and unrecognized, the winner earns his right to win. CHARITYSMITH is proud to present annual grants from this fund dedicated to such individuals.

All donations to Douglas F. Smith Memorial Fund benefiting Maddison Page (a division of CHARITYSMITH) are tax deductible in accordance with federal tax laws. Donations can be made using one of the following secure methods:
