Tignes, France - Last month, Breckenridge resident Eric Willett took home a silver medal from Snowboard Slopestyle at Winter X Games 14 in Aspen. Today in the men's final in Tignes, France, Willett upgraded and will bring gold back to his hometown in Colorado.

Boreal, CA - Jayson Hale (Sierraville, CA) and Faye Gulini (Salt Lake City, UT) topped the snowboardcross Rev Tour field on Friday, winning their respective final heat. Both Hale and Gulini forced their way to the front of the pack to clinch the win.

Austria - Last weekend Westendorf once more became the unofficial snowboard capital of Austria. The offical Austrian snowboard freestyle championships ended successfully with great performances. The master in the superpipe had already been selected the weekend before last weekend in Innsbruck/Seegrube. This time, the best park riders had to be found.

Tignes, France – Together with ESPN and Canal+ Events, Tignes Resort welcomed the first Winter X Games Europe today at a press conference in front of 125 media and the following eight elite athletes who will compete in the inaugural event: Torah Bright (Australia), Kevin Rolland (France), Jenny Jones (UK), Xavier Bertoni (France), JJ Thomas (USA), Mathieu Crepel (France), Louie Vito (USA). Final competitions begin tomorrow and will go through Friday.

Czech Republic - While World Rookie Champion Roope Tonteri got seven place at the Oakley Arctic Challenge 2010, the World Rookie Tour landed in Czech Republic, for the Protest East Rookie Fest in Splinderuv Mlyn, Martin Cernik’s home ski resort.

Every time the Campus Rail Jam Tour rolls through Salt Lake City three things are guaranteed to happen. First off, someone from the crew will feel the need rant for an hour about how weak the libations are. Second, that same person will end the night hugging the toilet from too much “weak” party sauce (A classic case of “over-hydration”). Lastly, the local shreds will completely destroy the setup and put on one of the best shows of the entire tour Guaranteed.

Moscow, Russia - Doris Guenther (AUT) and Aaron March (ITA) have won the second parallel slalom of the 2010 LG Snowboard FIS World Cup. While Guenther led a total podium sweep of Austria on the ladies’ side with fellow countrywomen Heidi Neururer and Julia Dujmovits as second and third respectively, March successfully competed in the men’s final against Olympic runner-up and current World Cup leader Benjamin Karl (AUT).

Finnish Peetu Piiroinen won The Oakley Arctic Challenge 2010, after knocking Norwegian Torstein Horgmo out of the Viking King chair in Wyllerløypa Sunday. Mikkel Bang secured a third place with a trademark laidback and stylish run. Peetu Piiroinen secure Swatch TTR World Champion title

Leysin, Switzerland - The snow and the fog didn’t get the best of the very motivated snowboarders in the finals of the NESCAFE CHAMPS 2010 in Leysin. The Frenchman, Johann Baisamy wins this edition and Patrick Burgener finishes in second place, only a point away from the top spot on the podium. Maxence Tevelle (FRA), takes 3rd place. Jan Scherrer, surprisingly strong in yesterday’s qualifications, finishes a respectable 4th place.

Oslo, Norway – Today, we saw the semi finals of the 6Star Oakley Arctic Challenge on the Tryvann Vinterpark slopestyle course on the scenic outskirts of Oslo, Norway. Peetu Piiroinen (FIN) was in form and qualified in the top spot of his heat leaving Seppe Smits (BEL) in second and Torstein Horgmo (NOR) in third place.

Oslo, Norway – Today, the 6Star Oakley Arctic Challenge (TAC) saw 32 of the snowboarding’s best slopestyle riders battling for one of twenty spots in the semi finals that will be held on Saturday. One of Norway’s most famous riders Torstein Horgmo, used his home country advantage and qualified in first. The slopestyle course in Tryvann Vinterpark, Olso, served as a brand new location for this elite Swatch TTR competition.
