Rome SDS: The FuGnar Interviews Getting there is half the fun. Unless the “there” doesn’t matter, then just getting becomes all the fun. Taos Taos in New Mexico | Taos Ski Valley was founded in 1955 by Ernie and Rhoda Blake. To this day the resort is still ran by the grandchildren of the Blakes. 2009 was the first year snowboarding was allowed in Taos. If you like steep, long runs you need to go to Taos. You have to go and experience the 3,244 foot vertical and the 1,294 acres of steep terrain and 110 trails that will keep you busy all day long.
Big Boulder Big Boulder in Pennsylvania | Big Boulder first opened in 1949 and became the first commercial ski resort in Pennsylvania. The mountain offers 14 downhill runs and 9 lifts spread throughout 55 acres of terrain. There is also 2 terrain parks. The park was rated a top 5 Terrain Park on the East Coast. The crew is obsessed with building a fun and challenging park each year.
The Canyons The Canyons Resort in Utah | The Canyons Resort is the largest ski and snowboard resort with 163 diverse trails spread throughout 3,700 acres of terrain. The resort is best known for it's backcountry, but be careful, beyond the rope lines can and do slide. The mountain has an elevation of 9,900 feet and a vertical drop of 3,190 feet. There is 6 natural half pipes and 2 cutting edge, easily accessible terrain parks.
Jackson Hole Jackson Hole Resort in Wyoming is the most epic mountain you will ever shred. The resort is located in the Grand Teton Mountain Range. The 116 diverse runs keep you traversing all day long just to get a piece of the whole mountain. There is 2,500 acres of perfect steep lines with plenty of Wyoming Pow. There is a vertical of 4,139 feet, the greatest continuous rise in the US. Jackson Hole has plenty of tree runs and natural features to keep you going back up 2 miles on the new tram all day long. You need to make sure you ride the Casper Bowl at least once before you leave the resort.
