Ron bet Shawn Dumont, one of the in-house graphic designers here at Rome, that he couldn’t quit smoking. If Shawn did smoke, he had to get a henna lower back tattoo to shame him during the summer months. (We pushed for a real tattoo, but his bottom lip started to quiver… so we let him off.)

Calgary, AB – The second annual Burton Canadian Open (CANO) has come to a close and Brett Esser (USA) and Enni Rukajärvi (FIN) have come out on top, winning the men’s and women’s slopestyle competition today at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta. After seeing optimal conditions during the week with bluebird skies, the weather took a turn for the worse with low visibility and frigid temps making for challenging riding during finals.

Lincoln, NH - Loon Mountain's annual Women's Droppin' In Snowboard Camp takes place March 6-7, 2010 and is being presented by Oakley. The camp is designed for intermediate women riders, age 13 and up, who want to build their riding skills in the park, pipe and on groomed trails.

Calgary, AB – Six Olympians from four countries swept the podium today during the halfpipe competition at the second annual Burton Canadian Open. It was picturesque day in Calgary for the internationally diverse field of riders who were competing for a piece of the $25,000 prize purse, in addition to valuable points towards the Burton Global Open Series and the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour titles.

Slovakia - The fact remains that Sony Ericsson Snowboard Fest is the biggest snowboard event in Slovakia as more than 5 000 spectators have been enjoying it already for 10 years.

The Flaunt It 2010 event series took off on Sunday Jan 31st on the East Coast. Girls from all around Nova Scotia, Quebec and Ontario joined up for this first 2010 event at Martock. If you come to Nova Scotia for a contest, you're going to get a run for your money and learn a few things.

Sudelfeld, Germany - Amelie Kober (GER) and Andreas Prommegger (AUT) have won the season’s sixth Parallel Giant Slalom of the 2010 LG Snowboard FIS World Cup. The German hopeful for the up-coming Olympics successfully competed against new World Cup leader Nicolien Sauerbreij (NED) in the ladies’ final thus securing her season’s second World Cup win.

Calgary, Alberta - Another gorgeous day greeted riders and spectators yesterday at Canada Olympic Park for the men’s and women’s slopestyle semifinal competition. Bluebird skies illuminated the 600m long slopestyle course which was made up of a step-up saddle to down box, followed by a down-flat-down kink rail, a log jib, down rail, wall ride and three kickers, two of which were split down the middle by a channel.

In support of team rider Danny Davis, and the Athlete Recovery Fund, Totino’s will have a giant Get Well card at the Dew Tour at Mount Snow, VT this weekend. For every person who signs Danny’s Get Well card, Totino’s will donate $1 to the Athlete Recovery Fund (up to $2,500).

In an effort to build upon the current Swatch TTR World Snowboard Champion trophy design, the acclaimed Hong Kong/Hamburg based toy artist Mark Landwehr has been working on a very special TTR character that will become the victory icon of the future of the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour.
