Peetu Piiroinen (FIN) has carved his name into the history book of snowboarding by becoming the first snowboarder ever to win two consecutive Swatch TTR World Champion titles. As if re-claiming the most prestigious award in snowboarding was not enough, he also secured it a week before the last 6Star event, the Burton US Open.

Stratton Mountain, VT - Kazuhiro Kokubo (JPN) and Kelly Clark (USA) won today’s US Open halfpipe finals, where thousands of fans enjoyed some of the most progressive riding in halfpipe history. Today’s win marked a historic moment for Kelly Clark, who is now the only woman in US Open history to win four halfpipe titles. Kazu’s win was also a landmark as it was his first time winning a US Open title.

Spain - Holly Crawford (AUS) and Fredrik Austbo (NOR) have won the season’s last halfpipe contest of the 2010 LG Snowboard FIS World Cup. In La Molina, Spain, Holly Crawford secured a back-to-back win after having triumphed in Valmalenco (ITA) last weekend.

Spain - Helene Olafsen (NOR) and Pierre Vaultier (FRA) have won the last snowboard cross race of the 2010 LG Snowboard FIS World Cup. In La Molina, Spain, the reigning World Champion successfully competed against Simona Meiler (SUI), Olympic Champion Maelle Ricker (CAN) and Alexandra Jekova (BUL) in the ladies’ final.

Stratton Mountain, VT - Balmy weather made Vermont feel more like California at the 28th annual US Open Snowboarding Championships, where Europeans Mikkel Bang (NOR) and Sina Candrian (SUI) each took home $20,000 and top slopestyle honors. Both riders are new to the top spot of the US Open slopestyle podium, adding a coveted title to their career highlights.
